SIM Rede de Postos
Brazilian Gas Station Chain Powers Its Cloud-Based Network Infrastructure Expansion with Fortinet
With 181 branches in more than 72 cities in Brazil, SIM Rede de Postos (SIM) is the country’s largest network of gas stations and convenience stores. Growing fast, the company moved its enterprise applications onto the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for greater agility. As it did so, SIM realized it needed to update its cybersecurity systems to increase visibility and protection in its new cloud environment.
The company now uses FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) deployed as virtual machines to enforce consistent security policies in GCP. Each of SIM’s 204 locations have FortiGate NGFWs with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN enabled and 245 FortiAP access points provide secure and high-performance wireless connectivity. In addition, the company uses FortiSwitch Ethernet switches, FortiNAC for zero-trust network access control, and the FortiManager solution for centralized network management. With Fortinet, SIM has boosted the security of its cloud applications and enhanced network performance to improve the customer experience and better support sales.
“Besides security, reliability, and easy administration, our equipment management has improved 100%. We put a lot of trust in the [Fortinet] solutions, and they have delivered even more. Now, we control everything under our firewalls.”
